Toni Allison, DPT, Power Pilates Certified
After moving to Salt Lake City from Atlanta, GA, Toni joined the team in October 2016.
Toni graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She has clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedic, outpatient aquatic, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and assisted living sittings, and has developed strong interest in Pilates-based physical therapy, geriatrics, and manual therapy. She is certified in Pilates through Power Pilates and utilizes this training to encourage postural awareness, improved core activation, and stronger stabilizing muscles to allow the body to move freer and out of pain. She is strongly committed to quality patient care and learning more about her patients so that she can provide bespoke treatment to each individual person. Toni is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Utah Physical Therapy Association.
She enjoys staying physically fit through weight-lifting, mountain biking, climbing, and hiking, especially hen she can do those activities with her husband, “dog-ter” Lana, and friends. Prior to her career as a physical therapist, Toni attended Georgia State University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Sarah Terpin, DPT
A native of Oregon, Sarah graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwester University in 2008, and returned to Portland to practice as a manual orthopedic physical therapist. Sarah relocated to Salt Lake City in March of 2018, and is excited to join Cutting Edge Physical Therapy.
Sarah’s approach emphasizes a whole-body perspective to patient recovery and focuses on the benefits of healthy movement during the rehabilitation process and transition back to normal life. She finds great satisfaction in working with patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and acting as an advocate for health in all aspects of their lives.
Her previous experience has focused on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and movement analysis, for people with all ranges of physical abilities and has been proud to partner in these efforts with multiple Portland area high schools, as well as Oregon Ballet Theater and Northwest Dance Project, and is looking forward to developing these kinds of collaborations in the Salt Lake area.
More recently, Sarah has begun incorporating vestibular rehabilitation (the treatment of dizziness, concussion, and some types of balance issues) into her practice. While not often painful conditions, these issues can significantly affect a person’s ability to participate in daily life. Regardless of condition, Sarah strives to provide individualized care for every patient to promote understanding of their condition, encourage self management and treatment, and restore full function.
Outside the clinic, Sarah enjoys spending time with her partner, Roscoe, relaxing with coffee or a good book, gathering friends together for delicious meals, and all things outdoors. She is looking forward to exploring all the beautiful wild places Utah has to offer, and welcomes any recommendations on your favorite “hidden gems”.
